Indiana Tobacco Cessation
Statewide Partner
Since 2010, the Indiana Rural Health Association has been a statewide partner with the Indiana Department of Health (IDOH), Tobacco Prevention and Cessation (TPC) program to assist healthcare facilities effectively manage tobacco use and nicotine dependence. Our staff has 15 years of experience in tobacco control and knowledge of the Clinical Practice Guidelines for Treating Tobacco Use and Dependence. The IRHA tobacco program is available to assist Rural Health Clinics, Critical Access Hospitals, and other healthcare facilities across the state with tobacco prevention and cessation resources as well as education.
Building off of IRHA’s long history with IDOH/TPC we are available to assist in building a tobacco dependence treatment plan via evidence-based practices and quality improvement activities while leveraging electronic medical record systems. This can provide an opportunity to improve processes and workflows to reduce patient and/or employee tobacco use and dependence. These steps can result in cost savings and improved productivity.
